Public Advocate, NYCLASS To Urge City Council To Back Pilot Program That Protects Tourism By Replacing Central Park Horses With Vintage-Replica Cars
NYCLASS To Deliver Over 85,000 Signatures In Support Of Vintage-Replica Car Trial
New York, NY – Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, New Yorkers for Clean, Livable and Safe Streets (NYCLASS), and PETA will hold a press conference on the steps of City Hall in Manhattan on Friday, June 15th at 12:00 PM to urge the Council to support a pilot program that would phase out the horse-drawn carriage industry in New York City and replace it with vintage-replica electric cars. At no cost to the city, the pilot program would test out the viability of replacing the carriage horse industry with an electric vintage-replica car – a cleaner, safer and animal-friendly alternative.
